Kentucky's Top 25 run ends at 68 weeks

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) Kentucky is out of the AP Top 25 for the first time in nearly four years while another bunch of Wildcats - Villanova - maintained their hold on No. 1.

Kentucky slid out of Monday's latest poll from No. 18 after losses to South Carolina and Florida, snapping a 30-game home winning streak for the Wildcats in Southeastern Conference play. That dropped coach John Calipari's Wildcats out for the first time since March 2014 and snapped a 68-week stretch in the poll.

"I'm not panicked," Calipari said Monday. "I coach at Kentucky, I always have young guys. I don't have them this young, but they're really young. They're learning to trust each other. I've got to get them to trust each other on both sides of the ball and it just might take more time."

Va. Tech pulls away to beat No. 10 UNC

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) Kerry Blackshear Jr. called Virginia Tech's game against No. 10 North Carolina a "really big character test," coming on the heels of a loss at home against Florida State.

That was a game, Blackshear said, in which the Hokies "really didn't just come to play."

No. 13 Ohio State goes to 9-0 in Big Ten

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) Keita Bates-Diop scored 14 of his 20 points in the second half and No. 13 Ohio State beat Nebraska 64-59 on Monday night, the fourth victory for the surging Buckeyes in the last eight days.

The back-and-forth game had seven lead changes in the second half. A pair of foul shots by Nebraska's James Palmer Jr. cut Ohio State's lead to four with 2:19 remaining, but the Cornhuskers couldn't pull any closer.

Indiana closes strong to beat Maryland

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) Juwan Morgan spent most of the weekend getting treatment on his injured right ankle and hoping he could play Monday night.

He did more than the Indiana Hoosiers could have expected.

Bamba's 24 and 12 help Texas rebound

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Mo Bamba was mad when he ripped down a rebound and went back for a two-handed dunk punctuated by a yell and a fist pump.

Mad about getting blocked a minute earlier, and still mad about a humiliating loss at No. 7 West Virginia two days earlier.

No. 22 Vols still sorting out rotations

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Tennessee coach Rick Barnes continues searching for the right combinations to put on the floor even as his team remains in the Top 25 and moves closer to its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2014.

The shuffling was particularly evident Saturday in Tennessee's 70-63 victory at South Carolina as Lamonte' Turner and Derrick Walker delivered notable performances off the bench and Yves Pons made a surprise appearance.

No. 2 Virginia beats Wake, win streak 10

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) Points are always at a premium in No. 2 Virginia's low-scoring games. So when the Cavaliers finally found their way to the free-throw line after halftime, they cashed in on those freebies - and sidestepped Wake Forest's upset bid.

Kyle Guy scored 17 points, and Virginia beat the Demon Deacons 59-49 on Sunday night for its 10th straight win.

Michigan rebounds with win over Rutgers

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) John Beilein and Michigan are ready for a much-needed breather.

Moe Wagner scored 16 points and Duncan Robinson added 12 to lift the 23rd-ranked Wolverines to a 62-47 victory over Rutgers on Sunday. It was the fourth game in nine days for Michigan, which rebounded nicely from a 20-point loss at Nebraska on Thursday.
