GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) Florida coach Jim McElwain can handle the heat, the hate and even the harassment.

He gets paid to deal with it.

But he would like his players, coaches and all their families, including his own, to be left alone.

Texas QB Ehlinger in concussion protocol

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger is in a concussion protocol and will be evaluated over several days to see if he can play this week against winless Baylor.

Ehlinger was held out of practice Sunday after playing the entire game as Texas (3-4) lost Saturday to No. 11 Oklahoma State. The game ended when Ehlinger threw an interception on a pass he floated into the end zone. He had been tackled hard on the sideline a few plays earlier.

Vols' Jones done playing due to injuries

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Tennessee offensive guard Jack Jones is ending his playing career due to neck and shoulder injuries.

Volunteers coach Butch Jones, who isn't related to Jack, says that "after meeting with doctors, everyone felt it was in his best interest that he no longer play football." The coach adds that "obviously we hurt for Jack, we hurt for his great family."

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) Ohio State coach Urban Meyer was direct when asked whether his players will be motivated by revenge in the long-awaited showdown with No. 2 Penn State this weekend.

If the idea of avenging last year's upset loss at Happy Valley gets his guys worked up, he might be able to use it.

Underdog Gators confident vs. Georgia

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) Florida sure doesn't sound like a double-digit underdog against third-ranked Georgia.

The Gators made it clear Monday that they're the ones to beat in the rivalry known as "The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party." They have won three in a row in the series and 21 of the last 27, the main reason players seemed unfazed to hear they are two touchdown underdogs against the undefeated Bulldogs.

Hogs' Ragnow, Hayden out with injuries

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) Arkansas got more bad news Monday as standout center Frank Ragnow and stellar freshman running back Chase Hayden are now likely to miss the rest of the season with injuries.

The update from coach Bret Bielema was another blow for a team that has lost three straight games in blowout fashion and seven of its last nine overall.

Huskers RB Bryant to have knee surgery

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) Nebraska running back Tre Bryant, who missed the last five games because of a knee injury, will have surgery that likely will end his season, coach Mike Riley said Monday.

Bryant's surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, and Riley said the sophomore from St. Louis would be a good candidate to get a season of eligibility back by petitioning for a medical redshirt.

Defense key to No. 11 Cowboys' rise

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) Oklahoma State's defense keeps getting better.

The No. 11 Cowboys won on the road Saturday, beating Texas 13-10 in overtime. Oklahoma State (6-1, 3-1 Big 12) has allowed just 26 points over its last two games, holding Baylor to 16 the week before, the Bears' fewest points in a Big 12 game since 2009.
